Genealogía y movilidad es un proyecto documental que pretende superponer las diferentes etapas acontecidas durante los movimientos migratorios de este siglo desde mi entorno.
En la generación nacida entre los 70’ y los 90’ se codifica la huella de una movilidad acelerada por la globalización y el avance de los medios de comunicación. A su vez, se ha convertido en una generación que contempla la posibilidad de emigrar, presionada por la aceleración en los cambios económicos de los últimos años.
Pensando en cómo representar las relaciones que se establecen entre una persona y el territorio en que crece, observé personas de mi entorno que encarnaban con sus historias familiares las diferentes etapas migratorias del siglo veinte.
En esta serie retrato a personas de mi entorno que tienen una historia familiar marcada por el mestizaje cultural, que han establecido sus redes sociales en el territorio que me rodea y que representan épocas en las que, por diferentes motivos, la homogeneidad de los rasgos asociados a mi territorio comenzó a debilitarse.
Sobre la huella que queda con el proceso fotográfico, el retratado imprime su marca autográfica. Con esta acción, la huella grafica del retratado, hablando de su genealogía y de su propósito, se añade a la huella fotográfica completándola.
Sobreponer esta expresión escrita sobre su exterior, muestra la interioridad y exterioridad que transitan en la formación de la identidad de una sociedad. A su vez, expone la información genealógica de una globalización acelerada que la fotografía por sí sola no puede mostrar.
Genealogy and movility
Genealogy and movility is a documentary project that intends to superimpose the differet stages that took place during the migratory movements of this century, from a look at my social environment in Spain.
In the generation born between the 70s and the 90s there is an imprint of mobility codfied and accelerated by globalization and the advance of the media. In turn, it has become a generation that contemplates the possibility of emigrating, pressured by the acceleration in the economic changes of the past few years.
Contemplating how to represent the relationships that are established between a person and the territory in which one grows in, I selected people from my environment who incarnated with their family histories the different migratory stages of the twentieth century. What was surprising was to discover that many of them were considering emigrating to another country, when they had been culturally assimilated by the society that had seen them grow.
In this series, I portray people of my environment who have a mature history marked by the cultural mestizaje that have established their social networks in the territory that surrounds me and which represent periods in which, for different reasons, the homogeneity of the traits associated with territory began to weaken.
On the trace that is left with the photographic process, the portrayed subject signs with their own handrwritten story leaving their own autographic mark on the image. With this action, the graphic imprint of the portrayed person, speaking of his genealogy and his purpose, is added to the photographic print completing it.
Overlapping this written expression on its exterior, shows the interiority and exteriority that pass in the formation of the identity of a society. In turn, exposing the genealogical information of an accelerated globalization that photography alone can not show.
